Storage solution is used to ensure that a pH probe is kept in ideal conditions during storage.
When you hydrate or store your pH probe in our KCl solution, it helps to re-vitalize the KCl reference solution contained in your pH probe. This is because some of the gel that is in your pH probe can wash out during use - however, if this happens during storage, it means that fresh new KCl solution (from your storage cap of your pH probe) then replaces the solution that has been flushed out of the probe. This means that the probe is almost "revitalized" while stored in the KCl solution.
