Covering ensures that the potting soil doesn't dry out as quickly, so you don't have to water as often. Are you going to fill a pot? Always sprinkle a layer of Pokon Hydro grains at the bottom of the pot. Fill about 20 to 25 percent of the pot with hydro grains. Such a layer provides a better water balance in the pot.
