Propagators from Romberg – Growing plants under control
Romberg propagators are used for germinating seeds and growing seedlings. Depending on the chosen model, a Romberg propagator will have additional features, such as bottom heating, LED plant lighting or both. Adjusting ventilation controls ensures the proper level of air flow inside the enclosed growing area.
Three models of propagators are available:
- Romberg propagator XXL – 59 × 39 × 27 cm
- Romberg propagator Thermo M – with heating mat
- Romberg propagator Climatic M LED – with LED plant lighting, heating mat and digital thermostat
Different models differ in size and equipment. The right choice depends on the size of growing area available, the need for temperature control and amount of light during propagation.
Romberg propagator XXL
A Romberg propagator XXL has the biggest growing area among three models of propagators. It has dimensions 59 × 39 × 27 cm. Extra space allows several seed trays, pots with seeds or cuttings and seedlings to be put in the propagator. With the help of transparent cover Romberg propagator creates an enclosed growing area with light.
Adjustable ventilation controls ensure the right level of air flow inside XXL model. This model is good for applications which do not require an extra heating mat and LED plant lighting.
Romberg propagator Thermo M
Romberg propagator Thermo M combines a compact propagation tray and a heating system. It consists of a 17.5 W heating mat, which provides the additional warmth to the growing area. It can help in germination of seeds and growth of cuttings, which grow better in warm conditions.
Compact design makes this model suitable for propagation in case of limited space. Thanks to ventilation controls in transparent cover the level of air flow can be adjusted depending on needs of the plants.
Model dimensions: 38 × 24 × 19 cm. LED plant lighting and digital thermostat are not included in this model.
Romberg propagator Climatic M LED
Romberg propagator Climatic M LED combines a compact propagation greenhouse, LED plant lighting, a heating mat and digital temperature control. This setup provides additional light and warmth during germination of seeds, cuttings and growing seedlings.
The main technical characteristics are:
- Size: 38 × 24 × 19 cm
- LED plant lighting: 5 W
- Heating mat: 17.5 W
- Thermostat: Digital HortiSwitch
- Ventilation: Two manually adjustable ventilation controls
Integrated 5 W LED lamp provides additional light when there is no enough natural daylight. This additional light helps propagation in indoor environment, where the daylight is limited.
17.5 W heating mat is positioned below the growing tray and provides additional bottom heat. Under normal conditions the temperature range, provided by the manufacturer is 22–25°C.
Function of HortiSwitch thermostat
Digital HortiSwitch thermostat controls the temperature of heating system depending on temperature readings. Changes in temperatures can be programmed to meet different needs in a day, up to four temperature settings per 24 hours.
It allows to adjust the heating schedule depending on propagation stage or changing daily environment. Actual temperature in the propagator will depend on such factors, as ambient temperature and location of the device.
Ventilation and plant development
Right ventilation is an important factor of propagation process. All three models of Romberg propagators have manually adjustable ventilation controls which allow adjustment of air flow inside enclosed growing area.
Transparent covers allow to monitor the development of seedlings and cuttings without opening the propagator. Cover can be opened only when access to the plants is necessary to water, sow or transplant the plants.

Different configurations
Three models of Romberg propagators have different characteristics to meet different propagation needs. XXL model has the biggest growing area, while the Thermo M has heating mat providing bottom heat. Climatic M LED includes all three factors – heating, supplementary LED plant lighting and temperature control.
