GroRox clay granules are a lightweight and completely reusable substrate for hydroponic gardening and food production.

Natural Clay

GroRox clay granules consist of safe material and are reusable and environmentally friendly. These granules are obtained from natural clay. This clay is transformed into round pellets, which are then baked to make them expand and become porous. In this way they provide excellent oxygenation at the root level and good drainage.

Unlike rock wool, Grorox can be buried in the garden soil as a drainage enhancer when no longer needed, without causing pollution.

This is a neutral, clean and light substrate which can be reused.

Use

1. Before using Grorox for the first time, it is important to thoroughly rinse your pebbles with water to remove any sand and rinse off any remaining dust and residue.
2. Always check the pH of clay substrates:
   
   1. Put some pebbles in a glass of water with the pH set at 6.0.
   2. Stir well, let rest and then measure. If the value is high (7.0 or higher), soak the pebble overnight in a solution of dilute phosphoric or nitric acid (or pH - liquid or powder).
   3. Then rinse thoroughly before use. If your Grorox are neutral, just wash thoroughly and rinse well as above.
3. After use: for reuse, it is usually sufficient to just wash off all organic residues and rinse well. But if necessary, and in case of insect or fungal infestation, you can disinfect the pebbles by soaking them overnight in a strongly acidic solution (or pH - - at 4.0), then rinse thoroughly to ensure that the acid is washed away.
